To stay and be safe, or to be brave and face the unknown?

A client asked for a butterfly but gave me free reign over the details. I'm still debating the title, so feel free to make suggestions on that score :)

I've been working on a bevy of commissions, both small and large, which I'll be posting time allows. Stay tuned!

My 2013 Calendars are available here [link] for $15.99! You can also choose the starting month, so no matter when you order, you're never short on time (or art)!

Just gorgeous.

Beautiful - the delicate reflections on the glass blend beautifully with the little white highlights on the butterfly's wings, and you managed a wonderfully realistic iridescent effect with the blues as well. A real tour-de-force in textures!

I love the detail on the vial! Glass is so hard to do!
Thank you! I thankfully had a vial that shape to paint from. My boyfriend bought several to put spices in to neaten up the kitchen, but that one hadn't been used yet.

It's always so great to have objects like that. They are so enjoyable to work from. My old art teacher had a glass shaped similar to that, only much bigger (apparently it is meant to hold coffee???) and it was my favorite thing to reference from. It was so unique that it made my sketches just "pop" off the page!
