[link] Totems and Mysterious Objects contest. I'm no Leo, but lions have become something of my artistic totem as of late. Their faces are capable of so much expression, leaving them at once intimidating and entrancing. The sun/light in general is often a god in mythology--Helios, Ra, etc.--and is certainly an artist's friend.
The color scheme is thanks to my beloved pirate, who's been teasing me about always using blue. A slight bit crept into the shading with the purple, but still, I think I answered his request admirably
