3/16/11--As part of my website update, I color-corrected all of my scanned watercolors so that they actually look like themselves!

I'm half asleep at the moment, but I'm so excited about how this little fellow turned out that I can't wait to share him!

My fourth card: The Wheel of Fortune
The wheel of fortune is composed of destiny and eternity entwined, much like serpents coils. However much one might search for or suspect a beginning or end, neither is found, nor are they meant to be. Success is as assured as failure, for the wheel cannot turn without one or the other. It is a scale (no pun intended) in the round.

From a technical stand-point, this snake was an exercise in patience and required LOTS of masking fluid. To maximize my time, I worked on it and the Magician's card [link] simultaneously. I'm still debating whether to use my iridescent watercolors (which wouldn't show on a scan, anyway) to add some sparkle to his scales, but I'll save that for a time when I am more awake:)

My thanks to [link] for the excellent stock photographs on which this snake and his fellow deck members are based.

Prints, mugs, and more are all available at my Cafepress store! Visit Arden's Miscellany here [link]

Lol, it's so good it belongs somewhere where you have to pay to see it, is what I meant. :) Hope that makes sense.
